John Wayne Grit Series Moab
The John Wayne Grit Series Moab is scheduled for September 26, 2026, with courses located in the Onion Creek trail area about 20 miles outside Moab. Runners will start from the Hollywood Western Equestrian Trails and pass red cliffs, mesas and grasslands with views of Castle Tower, Priests and Nuns, and Fisher Towers.

The courses include single track trails, horse trails and fire roads. Packet pickup is on event morning at Red Cliffs Lodge in the Colorado Room; participants pick up bibs there and use a shuttle to reach the start line about three miles away. Parking is free at Red Cliffs Lodge and there is no parking at the start or finish area.
The event is cupless. Half Marathon aid support includes two full aid stations and one water drop. The 10K has one full aid station. Filled water bottles will be available for finishers and each finisher receives a mug and a shirt. Podium prizes are awarded to three female and three male winners on each course for a total of 12 podium finishes.
Fundraising week runs September 7 to 23, 2026, with a fundraising goal of $80,000. Registration closes September 23, 2026. Cancer survivors who register receive a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last. Merchandise will be available for purchase during the event.
