Ironwood Challenge

The Ironwood Challenge is an off-road, circular 10k (ish) event held on Sunday 22 February 2026. The race starts and finishes at Long Ashton Community Centre and now uses chip timing.

The route climbs steadily into surrounding woodland, crosses a number of open fields, and returns into Forestry Commission woodland. The course passes through an old quarry that includes a short climb, includes several descents and subsequent climbs, and crosses open farmland before finishing back at the Community Centre. The route offers varied terrain and rural views.

The event is fully marshalled and well signed. First aid cover and water stops are provided on course, and refreshments are available at the finish line. All finishers receive cake at the end of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
