Irchester Spooktacular : event overview
Irchester Spooktacular is a Halloween-themed night-time run at Irchester Country Park, Little Irchester, Wellingborough (NN29 7DL). The event offers two race options over woodland trails and hard-packed tracks:
- 5k
- 2k Family Fun Run
The routes are fully marked and marshaled by volunteers in themed dress. Fancy dress is encouraged. All finishers receive an event medal and a bag of Halloween-themed chocolates. Free digital event photos are included with entry. The 5k entry fee is £20.
Entry, age rules and practical information
Minimum ages on race day are 11 years for the 5k and 4 years for the 2k. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Registration and race start/finish take place within Irchester Country Park (Royal Meadow and Little Meadow are used for start and finish locations).
Course, kit and support
The surface is mostly hard-packed track, suitable for road or trail shoes. Participants are advised to bring a head torch or small handheld torch for running in the dark. Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish, and volunteers will be on the course. The event supports local foodbanks as its 2026 charity focus.
