Intro to Trail Running : Wakefield

This in-person session offers a supported introduction to trail running at Ardsley Reservoir in Wakefield. The activity is organised by a local community running group and led by experienced run leaders who guide a small group along nearby trails. The session runs for 2 hours and is intended for participants aged 17 and over. The pace is social and inclusive, with an emphasis on ensuring no one is left behind.

Leaders provide practical tips on clothing, footwear, hydration, and how to access local trails and the surrounding countryside. The organiser may be able to supply a pair of trail shoes to try during the session for participants who do not have their own; interested participants are expected to request this in advance.

Participants should bring a lightweight waterproof jacket, gloves, water, a mobile phone, and wear clothing suitable for exercise. Free parking is available at the location. The session takes place outdoors on natural surfaces, so footwear and clothing appropriate for uneven ground are recommended.

The description focuses on the supported, instructional nature of the run, the venue at Ardsley Reservoir in Wakefield WF3 1EE, and the practical items participants should bring. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
