Intergalactic

Intergalactic is a space themed trail event at Hurn Forest using the Hospital Services Cricket Club as the event base. The event carries a Beastie Boys and space motif: participants receive a themed metal medal, space inspired snacks are available at the Run DMC aid station, and a themed playlist is provided.

The route is an out and back course following the main forest track. Laps measure 5.3 km (3.28 miles) and participants may choose their overall distance from 5K up to ultra marathon. All finishers of one lap or more receive a medal.

  • 5.3 km lap out and back
  • Distances offered from 5K to ultra marathon

Trail shoes are recommended but not essential because the track is hardstanding and well maintained. An aid and drinks station is provided at the start and finish of each lap offering savoury and sweet items. There is an area to leave personal items. Plastic cups are not provided; participants are asked to use their own drinking containers. Toilets are available at the cricket club. Number pick up takes place on the day at race registration.

The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules; distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under. Twenty percent of entry fees will go to Forestry England to support forest and trail maintenance. The event can be entered as part of The Imperial March series, which combines this race with Space Oddity and includes a combined entry discount of £10.
