Phoenix: Surrey - Hydra 75 Mile Ultra
The Phoenix Hydra is a 75 mile ultra run held at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey. The main ultra uses a single one mile loop on off-road trails around the estate. The loop is described as flat-ish with slight inclines and cambers.
The event offers an extended time limit, giving participants up to 30 hours to complete the 75 mile distance. Several other events run at the same time, including 12 hour and 24 hour formats, 50 mile and 100 mile options, and a variety of marathons and half marathons.
The event is fully chip timed and includes an aid station described as well stocked. Organisers state they aim to provide a safe, inclusive and friendly environment for runners. Entry places are limited. Participants, whether attended or virtual, receive a physical giveaway medal or memento for their run.
