Hourglass

Wadebridge, United Kingdom • 27 Jun 2026

Event Concept

Hourglass is a last-person-standing running event with prizes for the top three male and female finishers. Participants run consecutive 2-mile laps on a course in and around the Royal Cornwall Events centre.

Format and Rules

The event starts with 30 minutes to complete the first lap. Each subsequent lap must be completed in one minute less than the previous lap (e.g., 29 minutes for lap two). Runners who fail to finish a lap within its allocated time are eliminated. Completing 13 laps totals a marathon distance (26.2 miles), with further laps entering ultra-marathon territory. The event emphasizes pacing and strategy.

Course and Facilities

The route is described as "flat-ish" and features a mix of tarmac and grass with twists and turns. Shoe recommendations may be provided closer to the event date based on conditions. Onsite facilities include a hall with toilets and showers, food and beverage outlets for purchase, and massage availability before, during, or after the event.

Participation Details

All participants receive a bespoke medal. Event T-shirts and hoodies are available for pre-order via the entry page for collection at the event, with a limited number available for purchase on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
