Course and aid

The course runs within Skyline Ridge, Long Ridge, and Russian Ridge Open Space Preserves, with most of the route on the Bay Area Ridge Trail and views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Cruz Mountains. Distances were measured with a Rolatape surveyor's wheel. Trails are marked with ribbon about every 200 yards and color coded by distance; polka-dot flagging marks turns and blue ribbons mark wrong ways. Headphones are allowed on dirt road sections only. Aid stations are fully stocked every 5 to 6.5 miles with fruit, snacks, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are recommended to carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container.

Logistics and awards

Check-in and packet pick-up occur on race day at the preserve. Drop bags are allowed for 30K, marathon, and 50K at the start/finish area. Pre-registered runners receive T-shirts; all finishers receive a custom medal. Overall top three male and female finishers for each distance receive awards and race credits.
