Woodside Crossover

The Woodside Crossover takes place in Huddart County Park and the Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve on the San Francisco Peninsula. The course traverses forested slopes and steep canyons, primarily featuring moderately technical dirt trails and non-technical fire roads. Runners travel under a canopy of second and third-generation coast redwoods, passing small streams and gullies.

The routes include various forest types, transitioning from moss-covered redwoods to mixed evergreen forests and ridgelines covered in Chaparral and Manzanita. The course utilizes the Crystal Springs and Skyline Trails, providing views of the surrounding area. Wildlife such as black-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcats, and gray foxes are often present in these parks.

Participants can choose from four distinct distances:

  • 50K (30.8 miles) with 5,750 feet of elevation gain.
  • 35K (20.0 miles) with 4,500 feet of elevation gain.
  • Half Marathon (13.0 miles) with 2,950 feet of elevation gain.
  • 10K (6.5 miles) with 1,400 feet of elevation gain.

This is a cupless event, so participants must carry their own water bottles or reusable containers. Aid stations along the course provide hydration and a variety of snacks, including gels, pretzels, fruit, and electrolyte drinks. The event has a total capacity of 450 runners across all distances. All participants receive a custom finisher medal, and 50K finishers also receive a pint glass. Dogs are not permitted in the parks or on the trails.
