Hopson Trail Runs - Give Cancer The Bird

Hopson Trail Runs is the sixth annual trail running event held in the Hamlet of Honeoye, New York at 8716 Main Street, 14471. The event offers traffic-free courses through woodlands with visible fall foliage and local wildlife.

Most of the course follows wide grassy trails at WoodsEdge Retreat and established paths through Sandy Bottom Park. The route passes through forested sections where participants may see rabbits, squirrels, and resident Bald Eagles.

Distances offered:

  • 5K 3.1 miles run or walk, registration fee $35
  • 9K 9 kilometers run, registration fee $40

The event benefits Embrace Your Sisters. Embrace Your Sisters provides support and hope to people in the community struggling with breast cancer through financial assistance, education, and informational resources. Timing is provided by Robinhood Racing.

Awards and participant items include custom awards for overall and masters winners in each distance, a special "middle of the flock" award for the 5K, and a custom locally produced finisher medal for every finisher. Register by September 24 to guarantee a shirt; a limited surplus may be available afterward. Early registrants may receive a limited insulated grocery tote on a first come first receive basis.

A post race gathering takes place across the street at Birdhouse Brewery with live music, a complimentary pint, and complimentary donuts. For safety reasons strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
