Holy Trail Running Festival (2026)

The Holy Trail Running Festival is scheduled for 9 May 2026 at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk. The event is organized by Boghopper Races Ltd and is licensed by the Association of Running Clubs under UK Athletics rules (permit ARC/26/0411). Distances are not UKA certified and are therefore approximate.

There are three distances on offer:

  • 50 mile ultra, circular route, 15 hour time limit
  • 50 km ultra, starts at Holton Village Hall, 10 hour time limit
  • Full Trail Marathon, starts at Walberswick Village Hall, 8 hour time limit

All races finish at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad. Minimum ages follow UKA rules: 20 years for the ultras and 18 years for the marathon. Entries open 1 June 2025 and close 30 April 2026. Entries may be sold or transferred up until midday on 25 April 2026.

The entry fee includes a unique medal, food and drink at checkpoints, GPS tracking, first aid cover, a light meal and hot drinks at the finish, and prizes for first, second and third place in Female and Male/Open categories. A bus transfer from the finish to the marathon start is available to purchase for £12 per person. Refunds follow a tiered policy and processing fees are non refundable. Race clothing and transport refunds are not available once booked or ordered four weeks before the event. XCover insurance may be purchased through the entry system. Take on a coastal adventure with sandy trails and undulations in the Heritage Coast Run. Choose between a 10k or half marathon, both sharing a scenic, mostly off-road route. There's even a special 10k category for runners with dogs.

A Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Norfolk Showground featuring climb, crawl and slide elements on a mostly flat route contained within the showground. Participants must be 13 or older and a minimum fundraising target of £50 applies.

Experience a guided 36 mile social ultra run along the Boudicca Way through the scenic Norfolk countryside. This non competitive event features qualified leads and regular aid stations for an ideal introduction to long distance trails.

A 50k trail race along the Angles Way following the Waveney River valley from Shipmeadow to Great Yarmouth, mostly flat with mixed surfaces, four checkpoints, coach transport to the start, medical cover and a 14 hour cut-off.
