2027 Holy Trail Running Festival

The Holy Trail Running Festival takes place on 15 May 2027 around Lowestoft, Suffolk with finish lines at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad. The event offers three trail race options with separate start locations and course formats. Distances are approximate and the courses are not UKA certified.

  • 50 Mile circular route starting and finishing at Nicholas Everitt Park
  • 50 km starting at Holton Village Hall, finishing at Nicholas Everitt Park
  • Trail Marathon starting at Walberswick Village Hall, finishing at Nicholas Everitt Park

Each race has a published time limit: the 50 mile race has a 15 hour limit, the 50 km a 10 hour limit, and the marathon an 8 hour limit. Minimum ages follow UKA rules, with 20 years for the two ultras and 18 years for the marathon. Entry includes a finisher medal, checkpoint food and drink, GPS tracking, first aid cover, a light meal and hot drinks at the finish, and prizes for the first three finishers in Female and Male/Open categories. A race t-shirt can be purchased during entry.

Transport notes state that railway stations are a short walk from the 50 mile start and finish, and a paid bus transfer from the finish to the marathon start is available for £14 per person. There are no deferrals; refunds follow a tiered schedule and the event is licensed by the Association of Running Clubs under UK Athletics rules. A 22 mile guided trail run from North Walsham to Cromer on the Norfolk Coast. The route follows the Paston Way and passes places linked to the Paston family; organiser ESCAPE trails lists the price as £28.

A multi lap Scores Race through Lowestoft's historic highs on 30 August 2026, with senior and junior courses, medals and commemorative t shirts. Christchurch serves as race HQ with limited changing, bag drop and refreshments.

A 50 km ultra on 12 September 2026 following the Boudicca Way from Diss to Norwich, passing Roman sites and South Norfolk villages. Limited to 250 places and licensed by the Trail Runners Association.

A 50 km point to point trail along the Suffolk coast from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh with marked navigation, aid stations and a 9 hour time limit.
