Holiday Valley Mudslide Obstacle Trail Run, Ellicottville NY
The 14th annual Mudslide is a mud obstacle run held at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York. The event features 15 obstacles and explicitly excludes fire, barbed wire, and electric shocks. The courses run on mountain trails and include muddy sections.
Distances offered:
- 6 Miles Mudslide Long Course
- 4.2 Miles Mudslide Short Course
- 1 Mile Mudslide Kids Race
The 4.2 mile and 6.0 mile courses start at the top of Morning Star with access from the Yodeler lift, run along the ridgeline to Spruce Lake, then loop around the mountain to Eagle where the short and long courses split. The short course descends the hill while the long course adds additional uphill running. The kids course is for children 10 and under; children under 10 may run the short course only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registration opens December 1, 2025. Registration for the long and short courses closes February 28, 2026; registration for the kids race closes June 19, 2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $50 for the long course, $45 for the short course, and $20 for the kids race. All runners are timed and receive a finisher medal. Long course entrants who miss the start window must switch to the short course. Runners aiming for top 10 placements are advised to start earlier in their wave.
