The High Lodge Wild Trail Runs take place on 12 April 2026 at High Lodge, Thetford Forest, located between Cambridge and Norwich. The event offers two trail distances:

  • 5km - open to entrants aged 11 and over
  • 10km - open to entrants aged 15 and over

The event is chip timed and fully supported. All finishers receive a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a snack and a drink. This is the inaugural Wild Deer Trail Runs at High Lodge.

Entry and logistics

Registration opens 20/11/2025 and closes 08/04/2026. Entry options include runs with or without a T-shirt; published prices across the event materials range from about £22 up to £40 depending on the option chosen. A winter trail 10 km through medieval Lavenham along an old railway, mixing footpaths, forest trails, shallow streams and quiet rural roads. Manual timing, finisher medals and podium trophies; minimum age 16 and a 90 minute cut-off.

Run a 48 mile point to point ultramarathon along the scenic Peddars Way from Knettishall Heath to Holme next the Sea on 1 February 2026. Enjoy remote rural paths, on course support and a bespoke wooden finishers medal.

Guided trail runs by ESCAPE trails at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. Sessions in February and March 2026 feature forest facts, trail running tips, and routes of 10k and 16k with prices from £12.50 to £17.50.

Run the Marriott's Way Marathon or Half Marathon on 15 Feb 2026 along a scenic, traffic free trail finishing at Aylsham Friendship Hall. Limited to 400 entrants, with course support and 5% of entries donated to East Anglian Air Ambulance.
