High Lodge Half Marathon - Autumn
The High Lodge Half Marathon is a circular half marathon (13.1 miles) held in October around High Lodge in Thetford Forest, Brandon. The route passes through forest trails and varied terrain, including hard-packed sand, grassy footpaths and forest tracks, and is described as traffic free and well signed.
The event is manually timed and operates as a cupless race; fresh drinking water is provided at points on the course and at the start/finish for runners to refill their own bottles. Toilets are available at the start and finish, and professional photography is provided.
Age and performance rules include a minimum age of 17 years and a 3.5 hour cut-off for the half marathon. Prizes include a finisher medal and podium trophies for the top three male and top three female finishers.
Race administration requires on-the-day number collection at the race start; race numbers are not posted out in advance. Entry by competitors is at their own risk; participants must ensure they are medically fit to compete. Medical assistance will be available during the event but neither organisers nor landowners accept liability for injuries. Grippy footwear is recommended due to the varied terrain. Photographs and video from the event may be used by the organisers and sponsors for promotional purposes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
