High Lodge 16k Guided Trail Run

This event is a guided trail run of 16k at High Lodge in Thetford Forest, Brandon, Suffolk (IP27 0AF). The run includes commentary on the local forest and practical tips on trail running. Participants may encounter opportunities to see wildlife along the routes.

Runs are led at a conversational pace and participants are placed in groups with similar ability. Runners may need to adjust to a slower pace than usual depending on the group. The organiser allows up to 2.5 hours for the session, with actual duration depending on attendees' abilities.

The route uses a mix of hard-packed trails and single-track woodland trails. Terrain is described as mostly flat with a couple of small hills; instructors will offer advice on how to tackle these sections. Trail shoes are recommended, though road shoes are acceptable if they are all that a runner has.

Practical details include on-site parking with a charge of £3 for attendees and an event fee of £17.50. Participants are advised to bring at least 500 ml of water and any snacks they expect to need. The event is organised by ESCAPE trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
