The Hero Dash is a 5K community run and walk held on January 31, 2026, in Venice, Florida. The event takes place at Legacy Park, 395 E. Venice Ave., near the historic train depot and the Legacy Trail along Venice’s Intracoastal Waterfront. The race is hosted by Respect 1st Responders (R1R), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports first responders, military, and front-line workers and is raising funds for Disaster Relief Kits.
Format and entries
The event offers a 5K distance with separate entry categories for participants aged 13 and older and for those 12 and younger. Early registration fees listed are $35 for ages 13+ and $25 for ages 12 and younger; prices increase on January 16, 2026. The field is limited to 200 runners. Each participant receives a custom race bib, a short-sleeve race shirt, and a free downloadable finisher photo. The race will be chip timed by Florida Race Day LLC and finish-line photos will be available. 5K awards are based on finishing time.
