Harvestfest : Hungry Horse, Montana

Harvestfest is an annual fall festival held the third weekend of October in Hungry Horse, Montana. The 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Canyon Elementary School. General admission to the festival is free; donations to the Canyon Kids Christmas Fund are recommended but not required. A portion of proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit, group, or family; nominations for recipients are accepted through August 19, 2026.

The festival program includes an official 5k timed race that starts and finishes at Canyon Elementary School, a children's fun run with a costume parade, a dessert auction, a pie eating contest, a chili cook off, and a cornbread competition. Some events have entry fees: the 5k has a participant fee, pie eating contest entries have a fee, and chili and cornbread competitions require entry payments with prize awards for top placements. The event also offers kid focused activities such as crafts, relay races, yard games (weather dependent), large equipment tours, and a free chili and cornbread lunch while supplies last.

Additional community features include silent dessert auction opportunities and coloring contests for K–8 grade groups with coloring submissions due by October 14, 2026. The 5k course runs along the Southfork of the Flathead River and includes gravel sections; participants are advised that the route may include natural terrain and wildlife considerations.
