Event overview

The Harriers Gunner Shaw Cross Country Classic is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Thetis Lake Regional Park, Victoria BC, with start and finish near the main beach at the end of Six Mile Road. It is Event 2 of 3 in the Harriers Thetis Lake Fall Trail Series and the 41st annual running of the race. The course is sanctioned by BC Athletics, is approximately 10 kilometres, and the event has a maximum entry limit of 600. All race proceeds support Harriers Foundation projects, including scholarships and bursaries; the club reports over $450,000 raised toward 130 foundation projects to date.

Course and logistics

The course is entirely on trail and features roots, rocks, stumps, branches, boulders, several steep hills and multiple puddles; sections are often wet and rough, so a dry warm change of clothes is recommended. There are age categories for men and women across junior, senior and masters groups (for example: under 20; 20–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60+). Entrants are asked to pre-register online; day-of entries may be accepted only if the 600-entry limit has not been reached. Race-day package pickup is at the main beach. Amenities at the start/finish area include washrooms, change rooms, picnic tables, portable toilets and a space for team tents. Awards and draw prizes are presented at the finish after the last runner completes the course. An informal after-race gathering is held nearby at the Six Mile Inn.
