The Event

The Prairie Inn Harriers running club presents the 39th Annual Harriers Elk/Beaver Ultras.

The Course

The event takes place on a fast and flat 10-kilometer trail circuit around Elk and Beaver Lakes. The course is described as all trails, very flat, with good footing and in excellent condition. The distances are run as multiple loops of this circuit:

  • 100 km : 10 laps.
  • 50 miles : 8 laps plus 470 meters before Lap 1.
  • 50 km : 5 laps.
  • 40 km walk : 4 laps.

The course is accurately measured with a Jones Counter and certified. The start/finish for 2026 will be at the south end of Beaver Lake, in Elk/Beaver Lake Park, approximately 10 kilometers north of downtown Victoria.

Practical Information

Online registration opens on April 1, 2026. The standard entry fee is $75.00 for all divisions. A maximum of 200 entries are accepted. The cut-off time to finish is 12 hours.

Course services include water at 4 locations, washrooms at 5 locations, a sheltered clothing drop, and food, electrolyte drinks, and water at the start/finish area and approximately halfway on the 10K loop. An ambulance service is on site. Finishers' medals are given to all finishers, and trophies are awarded to the top male and female in all competitive divisions. A single-track trail race on April 11, 2026 in Port Angeles offering 12K, half marathon and out and back 50K routes along Kelly Ridge with limited fields, aid stations, cupless hydration, and a post-race meal and gathering.

Trail races at Royal Roads University on April 11, 2026 with 11 km, 6 km and a 1 km kids race. The long course has an aid station at 7.5 km; the event is cupless and parking is paid.

The Royal Roads Trail will take place in Victoria on Saturday 11 April 2026. You can run between 6 and 11 kilometers.

Explore technical trails and scenic climbs in the Sooke Potholes Regional Park. Race through the hills on established 25 km or 50 km routes featuring backcountry aid stations and custom apparel.
