Course details

The 25 km course begins below parking lot 2 of the Potholes park and uses a network of local trails. Key segments include the Peden Lake Trail, Lakes Connector, Sooke Mountain Park Road trail, Charters Connector, Grassy Lake Trail, the Monument Trail (a steep climb), the Harrison Trail, and a crossing of the Todd Creek Trestle before returning to the start/finish. There is an aid station at the Shields Lake Viewpoint and another at Grassy Lake.

The 50 km course also starts below parking lot 2 and includes summits of Empress Mountain, Monument Mountain, and Mt. Quimper. The route is described as roughly 2000 m of total ascent and includes long runnable sections. It passes along the Galloping Goose, Riverside Trail, Empress Mountain Trail, Lakes Connector, multiple aid stations (including Shields Lake and a Harbourview parking lot aid station), the Quimper Bike Push-up, Charter Creek Connector, and several crossings of the Charter Creek Trestle area before returning to the start/finish.
