Event Overview

The HAROC, or Hanging Rock Challenge, is a trail running event held at Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, North Carolina. The event features two race distances.

Distances

The event offers a 50k (30.6 miles) and a 25k (15.8 miles).

Course and Location

Both courses take place primarily on the park's technical, rocky, and root-filled trails. A small portion of each distance is on pavement. The course includes significant elevation gain and offers views of cliffs and waterfalls. The event is held in winter, with a backup date available in case of significant ice or snow.

The races start and finish at Hanging Rock State Park. Aid stations are provided on the courses, with the 50k featuring four and the 25k featuring two. The event has an overall time limit for each distance.
