HAROC (Hanging Rock Challenge)
HAROC takes place at Hanging Rock State Park near Danbury, North Carolina. The event is held in winter and includes a backup date of February 14 in case of significant ice or snow. The course runs through rugged park terrain with large boulders, cliffs, waterfalls, and varied singletrack that includes rocky and rooty sections.
The event offers two trail distances with marked aid and support along the courses. Each course has substantial elevation gain and set time limits. Trail mileage and a small amount of pavement are indicated for each distance. Registration closes on Wed, Dec 2 at 11:59 PM ET. The race is organized by Tanawha Adventures, an organization founded in 2016 that designs and runs trail events and conservation efforts in the region.
