Happy Valley Trail Half Marathon & 10k 2026

The Happy Valley Trails Event, established in 2022, returns to the hills and valleys surrounding Bollington. The event starts and finishes at Adelphi Mill in Macclesfield and offers two distinct route choices through diverse terrain, including farmland, rocky descents, and woodland.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • Half Marathon: A course featuring 770m of total ascent over White Nancy, Kerridge, and Sponds Hill.
  • 10k: A route with 390m of total ascent including White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge.

The Half Marathon route is noted for being more time-intensive than flat courses, typically taking 30 minutes longer to complete. For safety reasons, a cut-off point is enforced; participants who do not reach the 6km mark within one hour will be directed onto the 10k course by marshals.

The event provides aid stations along the courses, with two stations for the half marathon and one for the 10k. Facilities at the venue include free parking at Adelphi Mill. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and refreshments. Chip timing is used for all participants, and race numbers are collected on the day of the event. Entry is open to individuals aged 18 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
