Hann Jivin' in the Dark is a night trail run held in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event starts and finishes at the Anderson-South Head Start facility on Prospect Road.

Courses and Distances

The event offers three distances:

  • 6 Mile: An adult race covering a 6-7 mile (approximately 10k+) route through wooded trails.
  • 6 Mile (Student 14 and under): A youth version of the main race.
  • Kids Trail Mile: A shorter, less dark course for children.

The main 6-7 mile course travels a circuitous, well-marked route through the mostly unlit wooded trails of the South Loop of Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. The route includes the Lost Chromosome and Helix Trails. The trails are marked but not illuminated; participants must bring their own flashlight or headlamp to be allowed on the course. A minimum pace of 18 minutes per mile is enforced, with a sweeper on the course.

Event Details

Aid and water stations are provided, but runners are urged to carry their own water. For safety, runners under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the 6-mile event. The event is part of the Knoxville Track Club's Treadin' Trodden Trails series. Special limited edition T-shirts are printed for the series. Results are posted online after the race.

The Trail That Can't Be Concord is a trail running event in Knoxville's Concord Park. It features a 20K, 10K, and a Kids Trail Mile as part of the Treadin' Trodden Trails series. The course is a looped trail with a minimum pace requirement.
