Mudder's Day Madness Mud Run

Mudder's Day Madness Mud Run is an obstacle event held at Montvale Springs. The first Mud Run at Montvale took place the day before Mother’s Day 2013. The event on May 8, 2027 is listed as the next scheduled Mud Run.

The event course uses rolling trails on a marked route and includes more than twenty obstacles plus a dip in the lake. Named obstacles include Adversity Hill, the Tire Traverse, and the A-Frame Climb. Runners aged eight and older are eligible to race independently or with a team. Costumes are encouraged and a prize may be awarded for the most creative costume.

  • Fun Run, a bit over a mile, for ages four and older

Vendors, music, and refreshments are available onsite for participants and spectators. The site offers scenic views around the course. Proceeds from the event support Harmony Family Center’s therapeutic programming at Montvale Springs, including an equine therapy program and therapeutic camps for foster and adoptive children and families. An endurance festival at Fort Loudoun State Historic Park with timed 24, 12, 6 and 3 hour races around Tellico Lake. It includes a ruck division with specific weight rules and a cash prize for breaking the 24 hour course record.

A community cross country event at Cherokee Farm in Knoxville featuring a fully grass 2 mile course open to all ages. Weekend divisions include elementary through college and proceeds support Tennessee Endurance and the UT Running Club.

An off road 3 mile obstacle course with mud pits, hills, water and multiple waves at Harmony Family Center in Maryville on September 12, 2026. A separate 1K youth run allows an adult to accompany young children.

A trail race in south Knoxville on October 10 offering a 50k and a 7 Miler across varied singletrack and technical rock, with nearly 4,000 ft of climbing and aid stations placed along the route.
