Urban Wilderness 50k : Knoxville, TN (October 10, 2026)

The event offers two trail distances that use Knoxville's Urban Wilderness Gateway Park as the home base and follow the city trail system through multiple park and trail areas. The course routes pass through four city parks, one wildlife management area, and sections of privately owned land including Ijams, the Drop Inn, and the Helix trails. Aid stations are placed throughout the course and trails are described as maintained and runnable.

The longer route tours a wide set of trail sections and named segments, including Red Bud, Rendezvous, Burnett Ridge, Ross Marble, Hickory Loop, Will Skelton Greenway, Whaley, Transfarm, Chain Ring/ACDC, Lost Chromosome, Hastie, Victor Ashe, View Park, Floyd Fox, Best Medicine, and Pappy's before returning to the greenway. The organizer lists course elevation and distance details for each distance below. Course maps and additional course details are scheduled for release in mid summer prior to the event.

Packet pickup is available the day before at Southside Garage, 1014 Sevier Avenue, with limited bib pickup on race morning. Registration deadlines and refund rules apply: register by September 18, 2026 to guarantee a race shirt; partial refunds are available through specified dates with no refunds after September 18. A community cross country event at Cherokee Farm in Knoxville featuring a fully grass 2 mile course open to all ages. Weekend divisions include elementary through college and proceeds support Tennessee Endurance and the UT Running Club.

An off road 3 mile obstacle course with mud pits, hills, water and multiple waves at Harmony Family Center in Maryville on September 12, 2026. A separate 1K youth run allows an adult to accompany young children.

A 5K trail run and 1 mile asphalt fun run at Big Ridge State Park on September 19, 2026, with online preregistration and fees supporting the Y's youth health and wellness programs.

A community focused 24 hour trail event in Sevierville with a 3 mile loop, an eight hour 9 to 5 option, and an 80 mile Dolly themed buckle.
