Hankley Common 10km
Godalming, United Kingdom • 24 Mar 2026
Event Overview
The Hankley Common 10km is a guided trail run through the landscape of Elstead, Surrey. Participants follow a 10 km route that starts and finishes at the Hankley Common Lower Car Park. The event is led by a qualified guide, allowing runners to navigate the terrain in a group environment without the need for individual navigation.
Course Features
The route passes through an active Ministry of Defence training area known for its history and use in film production. A notable landmark on the course is the Atlantic Wall, a reinforced concrete structure built by Canadian troops in 1943 to practice breaching techniques for the D-Day landings. The landscape is home to rare wildlife and offers views across the common.
Group Requirements and Equipment
This is a social guided run rather than a competitive race. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of approximately 6 min/km (10 min/miles) for the duration of the run. Because the event takes place in the evening during the colder months, participants run by head torch.
The organizer provides opportunities to test specific gear, including trail shoes and head torches. Alcohol-free beer is provided to participants at the conclusion of the session. Access to the venue is available via the A3, and car parking is located at the meeting point. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
