Event overview

The Spring Trail Series is a trail running event held at Cowdray Estate in the South Downs National Park, Surrey on 18 April 2026. The organiser plans to welcome over 1,200 runners and walkers onto sections of the Serpent Trail that pass through greensand hills, rivers, woodland and lowland heath. The course technicality is rated 1/5 and expected temperatures are given as 7-20°C.

Practical information

All races start and finish at the same location just outside Cowdray Farm Shop, where event parking is available. The start/finish village will include an expo selling merchandise, hot drinks and food. Camping is available to purchase for Friday and Saturday nights; pitches can be booked during registration. A recommended kit list and course maps/elevation files are provided by the organiser.

Services and rules

All race entries include a fully marked course, medical support throughout the event and a finisher’s medal. Aid stations are stocked on course and photography is available to purchase. Cut-offs are described as relaxed, with on average over two hours allowed per 10 km between checkpoints. Competitors who do not finish may be offered entry to the following edition at half price but will not receive a finisher’s medal or official result.
