Event Details

The Spring Trail Series is a running event on the Serpent Trail in the South Downs National Park. The event is based at Cowdray estate in West Sussex. It takes place on 18 April 2026.

Course and Logistics

All races start and finish at the same location, near the Cowdray Farm Shop in Midhurst. On-site parking is available at the start/finish village. An expo at the venue sells merchandise, hot drinks, and food. The course is fully marked.

Additional Information

Camping at the event village can be purchased for Friday and Saturday nights during registration. The event has what it describes as "very relaxed" cut-off times, averaging over two hours to complete each 10km between checkpoints. The expected temperature range is 7–20°C. The 110km race is indexed for the UTMB World Series, as are the 50km and 25km races at their respective distance indexes.

Medical support and ground safety assistance are provided throughout. All finishers receive a medal. For the longer distances, services include drop bag transport to a mid-way point (110km) and GPS tracking (110km and 50 miler). Entry prices range from £35 to £120. Chocothon is a friendly timed lap on a flat 5.3 km riverside towpath, letting you complete as many laps as you can within a seven hour window. Distances from 5 km to ultra, medals and aid stations make it perfect for all abilities.
