Gut Buster

Gut Buster is an end-of-year cross-country running event held at Butlers Lands Farm, Mortimer, Reading, Berkshire (RG7 2AG). The course includes water crossings, Roman Walls, fields and footpaths, with a notably difficult final 400 m that depends on local farming and crop rotation.

The event has seen very muddy conditions in past years, including 2017 and 2022. Organizers plan to provide mulled wine and mince pies at the finish line and hope to have local brewery stalls, massage and additional refreshments available.

Distances offered:

  • 10K - entry £32
  • 10 Mile - entry £35

Included with the registration fee are an event medal, an iTAB engraved with the participant's name and finish time (delivered a few days after the race), free race photos, chip timing and ample toilets. Dogs are not permitted at this event due to bus restrictions and requests from local landowners.

Course records are listed by distance and time: 10K male 00:36:22 (2015) and female 00:41:05 (2013); 10 Mile male 00:56:58 (2015) and female 01:05:33 (2025). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
