The Grin & Bear It is a trail challenge held in Crested Butte, Colorado. It is described as the oldest trail challenge in Crested Butte. The event offers three different competitions.

Events

  • 25 km Loop: A running race.
  • 15 km Out and Back: A running race, noted as the traditional event format.
  • Mountain Bike: A bike event introduced in 2025. This route follows the 25 km run course but excludes a 0.7-mile spur to Green Lake and back. The bike course is roughly 14.83 miles long with approximately 4,000 feet of climbing.

Additional Information

The event provides minimal participant swag and does not have podium awards. Registration is subject to age restrictions: the running events are for participants aged 16 and over, while the mountain bike event is open to those aged 12 and over.
