The Grim Reservoir Dogs
The Grim Reservoir Dogs is a dog-friendly running event located at Fewston and Swinsty Reservoirs in North Yorkshire. Participants run along peaceful woodland trails and wide, well-maintained paths that offer views of the still waters and seasonal scenery. The event is designed as a fun dog race rather than a formal competition held under Canicross rules and regulations.
The course features undulating terrain on good quality trail paths. This is a looped event where runners can choose between two main distances:
- 3.3 miles
- 6.7 miles
The event is fully marshalled and the course is clearly signed. Feed and drink stations are positioned approximately every 3 miles along the route. For those participating in the multi-day version of the event, there is the option to join for a single day or up to four days.
Registration and the start area are located at the Swinsty and Fewston Reservoir Car Park. A public pay-and-display car park is situated next to the registration point, and public toilets are available on-site. Every finisher receives a bespoke race medal, and there are additional doggy treats provided for canine participants. The race is open to entrants aged 16 and over.
