About the race

The Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run is an all-terrain running event through Toohey Forest, staged from Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) on Sunday 20 September 2026. The event offers three course options:

  • 21.1 km Half Marathon
  • 10 km course
  • 5 km course

The event combines bitumen and bush trails and runs through university grounds and forested sections. Special items for 2026 include an epic finisher medal, a race singlet or shirt included with registration (registrations prior to 1 July receive free race merchandise), and a 10-year commemorative collapsible cup for the first 1,200 registrants. The event will operate as cup-less to minimise single-use waste and will provide water stations on course and at the start/finish area.

Age requirements apply: 5 km entrants must be at least 5 years old and under 13s must run with a registered adult; 10 km entrants must be at least 12 years old and under 13s must run with a registered adult; 21.1 km entrants must be at least 14 years old. Marshals, directional signage, and first aid trained staff will be present on course. The event supports Diabetes Australia, with $5 from every registration donated to the charity.

Volunteers and student event leaders are involved in event delivery, and race organisers publish race pack, precinct and course information for participants to review before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
