The Great Trailhead Foot Race is set for Saturday, October 18, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado at Bear Creek Lake Park. The event offers two distances:

  • 5 miles
  • 10 miles (two laps of the trail)

The course uses single-track dirt trails in Bear Creek Lake Park, located near the Denver skyline. The official start and finish are at the Pelican Point picnic shelter. The park address is 15600 W Morrison Rd, Lakewood, CO 80228, but that address leads to the visitor's center and not the race location.

Included items, registration and logistics

Registration fees include park admission for the day, a post-run party, and one finisher's meal. Each participant receives a gender-specific t-shirt. Finishers of the 10 mile distance receive a finisher mug upon completion. Alcohol is available for participants 21 and older with valid ID; complimentary food and drinks listed by the organizer include hot dogs, chips, protein bars, non-alcoholic beer, and bananas.

Coupon codes and vouchers must be redeemed online before race day. Teams of five or more receive a $5 registration discount if joined during online registration; this discount is not applied retroactively and does not apply to the kid's race. The race partners with Sneakers4Good to collect gently worn or new athletic shoes for donation; donated shoes should be wearable and tied together or secured with a rubber band.
