Grantchester Charity 10k & 3k, Grantchester near Cambridge, Sunday 27 September 2026

The Grantchester Charity Runs stage two measured courses through farmland adjacent to Grantchester on the Trumpington side of the village. The event offers two distances and uses chip timing for all participants. The courses follow mixed terrain and are described as predominantly flat with no road crossings.

The event provides on-site facilities including registration, bag drop and bike parking near the registration area. Parking is available a short walk from the start area. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and there are trophies for the winners of both the 3k and the 10k. The 10k Team competition returns for 2026.

Post-run support is offered by a local clinic providing sports massage, physiotherapy and osteopathy and advice on podiatry. Event merchandise includes T-shirts with proceeds going to Maggie’s and Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust ACT; T-shirts are sold through the registration process. Fundraising in 2026 supports ACT’s work towards the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital. A special family registration rate is available for the 3k for an accompanied under 12 at £6.25 plus fee; adults must register separately.

Trail runs nearby

Timed non stop runs of 6, 12 or 24 hours on the Backyard route at High Lodge Thetford Forest. Enter solo, as a pair or a team of up to four; camping onsite, timing by Timing Monkey and a bespoke wooden medal for all.

A lap based timed run at Mowsbury Park on 11 July 2026 offering distances from 5 km up to ultra with a flexible one hour start window and a choice of medal or lower cost no medal entry. Places are limited to 75.

Ultra:5K in Kempston on 12 July 2026 features three lap formats of consecutive 5 km circuits on an off-road course with hills and twists. Entries include between-lap sports massage, refreshments and a bespoke finisher medal.

A guided *10 km* group trail run at High Lodge in Thetford Forest on 19 July 2026, led at a conversational pace and organised into ability groups. Entry costs £12.50 and parking is charged at £4.
