The Good Hops 5k'ish Beer Run 2026 is the 11th annual "Will Run for Beer" trail race. It is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, which falls on Father's Day Weekend. The event begins at Good Hops Brewing in Carolina Beach and the course runs through the trails in Carolina Beach State Park. All proceeds from the race benefit the Carolina Beach Elementary School and the Friends of the State Park.
Race Details
The event features a single distance of approximately 5 kilometers. The course is described as a natural, single-track trail within the state park, with potential trail elements such as soft sand, roots, rocks, and uneven ground. Two water stations are provided at miles 1 and 2.
The organizers state they aim to keep the event small and affordable, with an "old school" feel. There is an award ceremony, with categories including overall male/female winners, masters (over 55), a dad/kid combo, military, and kids aged 14 and under.

Registration includes a t-shirt for those who register by a specified deadline in June; sizes are adult unisex from XS to XXL. Participants over 21 receive an official beer run cup and a beer, while those under 21 receive an age-appropriate treat. Packet pickup is available on the Friday evening before the race at Good Hops Brewery and again on race day morning.
