Golden Gate Trail Classic
The Golden Gate Trail Classic is a trail running event held in San Francisco and the Marin Headlands. This event serves as the conclusion to the Spartan Trail World Championship season. The course takes participants across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the coastal terrain of the Pacific coastline where the city meets the natural landscape.
The event offers several race distances to accommodate different endurance levels:
- 50 Miles (Golden Gate Trail 50MI)
- 50 Kilometers (Spartan Trail 50K)
- 25 Kilometers (Spartan Trail 25K)
- 10 Kilometers (Spartan Trail 15K)
Participants traverse the Marin Headlands, a region situated within the United States known for its specific trail geography. The event takes place over two days, with the longer distances scheduled for the first day and the shorter distances on the second. The start and staging areas are located near the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
Group participation is available through a team registration system, which allows multiple runners to access the same start times. High performance team apparel options and specific discounts for military personnel, first responders, and government employees are also part of the event framework. Spectators are permitted to attend and view the races from designated sidelines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
