Glendalough Upper Lake, Ireland • 24 Oct 2025
Glendalough Night Challenge is a night mountain running event in County Wicklow, Ireland, organized by the Irish Mountain Running Association. Runners tackle a 10 km long course (plus a 4.8 km short loop) around Glendalough, starting from the moonlit Upper Lake shore. The 10k route includes a challenging ascent and descent up Derrybawn Mountain, with the lights of Laragh twinkling below, and sections on the Wicklow Way and St Kevin's Way.
The shorter loop passes Glendalough's round tower and St Kevin's Church. Total climb is around 490 m. This event is the second in the Leinster night series trilogy, and requires Level B mandatory kit and a night torch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
