Glamaig Hill Race - 26 (David Shepherd Memorial)

The Glamaig Hill Race is a hill running event held from Sligachan Hotel on the Isle of Skye. The course covers approximately 4.5 miles with about 2,500 feet of ascent and is classed as a short Category A race.

Organised by Skye and Lochalsh Running Club, the race carries recorded course times of 44:27 and 56:09 set in 2018. The event supports Skye Mountain Rescue Team with proceeds donated to the service.

Entries opened on 1 April 2026 and closed on 9 July 2026. The event is currently full; the entry list showed 182 participants with 52 on the waiting list. The minimum age for competitors is 18 years. The published entry fee is £5 and limited entries on the day may be available.

Because of variable weather conditions on Skye, organisers require all competitors to wear or carry windproof body cover. Competitors are also advised to have waterproof full body cover available in case it is required by organisers during adverse weather.

The host hotel runs additional events alongside the race. The race page includes terms, cancellation and refund information and notes on event conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
