Ultra X Scotland on May 2 2026 stages trail races from 12 km to 110 km across the Scottish Highlands. The event has marked courses, aid stations about every 10 km and UTMB World Series indexing.

This annual half marathon takes runners to the Hebridean island of Tiree. The event, which started in 2006, includes a friendly atmosphere and a traditional ceilidh in the evening.

June 2026

A 31 miles ultra around Loch Lyon and into Glen Lochay with about 3,500 ft of ascent. The mostly off road route includes several river crossings, multiple water checkpoints and mandatory kit requirements.

A mountain ridge race on 6 June 2026 from Flodigary to Storr Lochs, roughly 27 km with 2000 m of ascent and descent. The unmarked route requires navigation skills, Category A experience and Scottish Hill Runners kit compliance.

A mountain hill race in the Western Mamores covering about 13 km and 1300 m of ascent over two Munro summits. The unmarked, clockwise route starts and finishes near Lower Falls and requires mandatory mountain safety kit.

A 15.5 mile off road loop around Loch Lyon in the Perthshire hills with about 1,500 ft of ascent, multiple river crossings and a mid race water station. Camping is available at the dam the night before.

A 20 km AL category hill race around the Slioch Horseshoe near Kinlochewe. The unmarked route crosses rough, pathless terrain and requires navigation experience and mandatory safety kit.

July 2026

A 170 mile point to point foot race from Milngavie to Inverness following the West Highland Way and Great Glen Way, with checkpoints, tracking, and vetting of entrants.

A 72 mile ultramarathon along the waymarked Great Glen Way from Corpach to Inverness with about 8,500 ft of ascent; solo unsupported race with marshaled checkpoints, mandatory kit and 4 UTMB points.

Experience a solo 42 mile race along the Great Glen Way from Fort Augustus to Inverness. This unsupported event features views of Loch Ness and 6000 feet of elevation. Runners finish with a final lap of the athletics track.

A 4.5 mile hill race on Skye with about 2500 feet of ascent starting from Sligachan Hotel on 11 July 2026. Entry via SiEntries, minimum age 18 and a £5 fee; competitors must carry windproof body cover.

August 2026

A 5.6 km hill race with 370 m of climb as part of the Newtonmore Highland Games, starting with a lap of the games field and climbing to the summit of An Torr before a technical descent and final field lap.

A short hill race of about 3.5 miles with 700 ft of ascent held within the Glenurquhart Highland Games in Drumnadrochit. Entry fee £10, minimum age 17, with on-the-day entries listed as available until 2:30pm.
