Gibside Wild New Year Trail Runs

The event on 3 January 2027 at Gibside National Trust in Gateshead offers two new off-road distances across the estate. The course runs through more than 600 acres of gardens, woodland and countryside within an 18th century designed landscape that contains wildlife and historic architecture.

Features of the site include the Neo-classical Chapel, a restored stable block and a large ruin. Runners may pass areas where deer are commonly seen. Route maps will be confirmed before the event.

  • 5 Mile Trail Run, Age 15+
  • 10 Mile Trail Run, Age 17+

The event is Canicross friendly and allows one controlled dog per runner. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North and results are available during the event. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise and a snack and drink. An exclusive event T-shirt can be added to an entry for £12.00. Free parking is available on site. Trail races at Forcett Hall on a historic estate, offering 5 km, 10 km (two laps) and a 5 km walk over pasture, tracks and woodland; trail shoes recommended and places are limited to 200 entrants.

A seven hour timed trail event along the River Wear in Durham with fully signed laps and multiple distance options. Finishers from 3 km receive a themed medal and there are aid tables, goody bags and distance pins.

A 7 hour trail Time Challenge on Sunday 21 June 2026 in Durham along the River Wear with cathedral views. Distances range from a 3 km minimum up to marathon, 50 km and ultra, with medals, pins and goody bags for finishers.

A trail running event in Teesdale on 21 June 2026 offering 3.5, 9 and 15 mile marked courses with marshals, aid stations, finish mementos and post-run yoga, held from the TCR Hub in Barnard Castle.
