Ghost Train Trail Races

The Ghost Train Trail Races are held on October 17–18, 2026 in Brookline, New Hampshire. The event supports local trail conservation, as all profits are donated to the Brookline and Milford Conservation Commissions to preserve and improve trail access.

The race follows the Granite Town Rail Trail, a former railroad corridor built in the late 1800s that once transported granite and ice. The course features weathered railroad ties along the path.

Five race options are offered:

  • 30-Hour Ultramarathon
  • 30-Hour 7 Person Relay
  • Haunted Night 30-Mile Race
  • 15-Mile Race
  • 15-Mile Relay

Registration for the 30-Hour Ultramarathon and 30-Hour 7-Person Relay has historically sold out quickly. A waitlist is available but is capped at 175 runners. Registration fees are non-refundable and entries cannot be deferred; any unused fees become a donation to the conservation commissions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
