The Groton Town Forest Trail Races take place on 4 Oct 2026 and are sponsored by the Squannacook River Runners and the Groton Trails Committee. The event is held at 163 West Main Street, Groton MA. Registration is limited to 250 runners. Close-in parking is limited. Some race proceeds are donated to the Groton Trails Committee. Entry fees are non-refundable and bib numbers are non-transferable. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers in each race and to first place finishers in age groups.
Course and logistics
The courses are well marked, tour the Groton Town Forest, and have no road crossings. Surfaces combine narrow dirt roads and winding single-lane trails with many roots, rocks, leaves, uphills, and downhills. Hills are not large, though some are steep.

- 3.4 mile
The 9.5 mile course has two self-serve water-only aid stations. The 3.4 mile course has one self-serve water-only aid station. Light refreshments are served after the races. Registration options include mail-in and online; mailed entries are subject to postmark deadlines. Entry fee levels for either race include: $20 if mailed and postmarked by 31 Aug, $25 from 1 Sep until one week before the race, and $30 after that and on race day. Family maximums are $40 (postmarked by 31 Aug), $50 (1 Sep to one week prior), and $60 after that. A $5 fee applies for Race Directors with pre-registration by mail or e-mail.
