Germantown 50k and 50k Relay (2026)

The event is a four-loop trail race held at Germantown MetroPark with both an individual 50K and a two-person 50K relay. The course passes cedar forests, open prairies, old-growth forest sections, alongside Twin Creek, and includes hills and valleys. The standard course follows marked trails using a combination of GREEN, ORANGE, PURPLE, PINK, RED, and other connector trails; a flood course uses YELLOW and BLUE connectors as an alternative route.

Aid stations are located at Cottonwood (main manned aid), Sunfish Shelter (fully stocked and manned), and Conservancy Road (water and Tailwind only, unmanned). Food offerings may include PB&J, pickles, chips, gummy bears, boiled potatoes, hummus wraps, bananas, and sometimes watermelon. Hydration includes water, Tailwind, and assorted soda. The race is cupless; participants must use personal water bottles or hydration packs. Shirts are optional for an additional fee; previous years' swag is available for purchase on race day for cash only.

The two-person relay requires each team member to complete two loops to total the 50K distance; teams may divide loops as they choose. Registration opens 2026-03-01 and closes 2026-09-10; the listed registration fee is $50.00. Elevation gain is approximately 3,000. There is a cut-off at 2:45 pm after which runners may not start the final loop. Awards are given to top overall male and female finishers and to top relay teams; a 2026 collectible wildlife patch serves as a custom finisher award.
