Gatliff Marathon

The Gatliff Marathon is scheduled for Saturday 17 October 2026. It is the 42nd edition of an annual cross-country challenge run, walk or jog organised by COPSE Club (Croydon). The event starts and finishes at Edenbridge Cricket Club, Matthew Cox Community Pavillion, Blossoms Park, Mill Hill, Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 5DA (what3words: habit.dent.ample). Routes are mostly on footpaths and tracks across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

The route changes each year. Each entrant receives a route description with what3words references and a GPX file. The aim is to complete the chosen distance within ten hours.

Facilities and entry

Entry fees are listed as £21 for the 25 km and £23 for the 50 km. Entries open on 22 November 2025 and close on 15 October 2026; registration is via the SiEntries system. Food and drink provided by the organisers are included in the entry fee. The 50 km route has five checkpoints and offers soup and sandwiches for lunch at one checkpoint; both routes have snacks and drinks at checkpoints, and the 25 km route has two checkpoints. Winter Wanderlust 50km on 21 December 2025 takes you along the scenic North Downs Way from Detling to Wye with about 1,000 m of climbing. Expect varied chalk country terrain, live tracking and hearty checkpoints to keep you going.

Enjoy a festive 5 mile night trail in Friston Forest on 22 December celebrating fun and adventure over racing. Pick up your number at The Plough & Harrow, follow the GPX on your phone, bring a head torch and earn a festive medal and drink.

A scenic 7.5 km trail loop on the 1066 Country Walk with a pub finish at The Plough. Limited to 50 runners, this friendly, marshalled event includes post race tea and cake.

Run among the vines at Rathfinny on 28 December 2025 with two 5 km loops across rolling South Downs terrain. Just 75 places and most of the entry fee supports the WOLO Foundation for families affected by cancer.
