Gatliff Marathon

The Gatliff Marathon is an annual event held in the countryside of Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. Established in 1982, the event offers 25 km and 50 km courses that utilize a network of footpaths and tracks. The routes change every year, providing different terrain for participants to navigate. The primary objective is for individuals to complete their chosen distance within a ten-hour time limit.

Participants are provided with a dedicated route description that includes what3word references and a GPX file. The courses feature multiple checkpoints to assist those on the route:

  • 50 km - Includes five checkpoints and a lunch stop with soup and sandwiches.
  • 25 km - Includes two checkpoints featuring snacks and drinks.

The event starts and finishes at Edenbridge Cricket Club in Kent. The venue provides showering facilities for all entrants after they complete the course. Medical safety is managed by a specialist outdoor sports events provider.

The entry fee covers all food and drink provided by the organizers, including snacks at checkpoints and hot food, tea, and coffee at the finish line. Registration is open to walkers, joggers, and runners who wish to navigate the cross-country terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
