The Galtymore is a mountain running race in County Tipperary. The race takes place on Sunday, 23rd August 2026. The course involves a race to the top of Galtymore and back, going over the peaks of Cush and Galtybeg.

Course Details

The total distance is 13.00 km with a total climb of 1,300 m. The route is not marked, and the use of GPS devices is allowed. The event has an 'Extreme' difficulty rating.

Mandatory Kit

A detailed mandatory kit list, classified as Level C - Advanced, is specified. This includes items such as a waterproof jacket with hood, hat, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone, foil blanket, full leg waterproof cover, means to carry 500 mL of water, emergency food, a map, and a compass. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed on the day based on conditions. Random kit checks may be conducted.

Entry Information

Entry opens on Monday, 17th August 2026 at 21:00 and closes on Saturday, 22nd August 2026 at 18:00. The entry fee is €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. There is an entry limit of 250 participants. The race is not for juniors.

Logistics
