Moylussa

Moylussa is a mountain running event in County Clare held on Sunday 26th July 2026 as part of the Munster Championship. The long course covers 10.70 km with a total climb of 536 m; there is also a short junior course. The route turns around at the Moylussa summit.

The course follows a mixture of narrow single track, wider fire road, sleepers and narrow forest trail. Only major junctions are marked and GPS devices are allowed. The event difficulty is rated for moderate terrain with more than 500 m ascent over typical mountain running distances.

Organisers require Level A basic mandatory kit, specifically a showerproof, windproof jacket. Competitors must carry the required items and have the means to carry them; the final kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed at registration depending on conditions. Failure to have the required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification, and random checks may be carried out.

Logistics note: the race start is at Ballycuggaran Woods and parking is at Twomilegate. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open 20 July 2026 and close 25 July 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
