Cush - Galtees
Cush - Galtees is a mountain running event in County Tipperary. The course is a simple out-and-back to the top of Cush, beginning on rocky trail, passing a stile onto open mountain, reaching the summit marshal and returning the same way. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are not allowed.
The distance is 4.50 km with a listed climb of 400 m. The event carries an IMRA difficulty rating of 6 (2,3,1) and is described as moderate terrain.
Entry fees are stated as €7 for seniors and €5 for over-65s and under-18s. Entries open Monday 17 August 2026 at 21:00 and close Saturday 22 August 2026 at 18:00.
Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard. Participants must carry the following items:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or buff
- Gloves
- Whistle
- Charged mobile phone with emergency number stored
- Foil blanket, bivvy bag or equivalent
Participants must bring these items to registration. The specific kit to be carried during the race may be finalised on the day and will be advised at registration. Competitors should have a means to carry the kit. Failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification; random checks may be carried out.
