Funest 50k / 30k / 10k - Loyce E. Harpe Park

The event offers trail races on the mountain bike network at Loyce E. Harpe Park, 300 W Carter Rd, Mulberry, FL. Courses run on sand and dirt trails through an old abandoned phosphate mine area with rolling hills and twisting singletrack. The routes are clearly marked with over 600 markers.

Distances

  • 50k (five 10k loops)
  • 30k (three 10k loops)
  • 10k (one loop)

Aid and support include electrolytes, soda and water at the start area and an additional aid station near the 3.5 mile point. A 10 hour cutoff applies (noted as 19:20 pace). Race entries are limited to 100 runners across the distances. Ten dollars from each registration is donated to Polk County Parks and Recreation for park maintenance.

Finishers receive socks, a finisher sticker and an award. Overall awards are given to the top three men and top three women, plus first masters for men and women. Food is available at the start and finish area and includes items such as quesadillas, hot dogs, hamburgers, bacon, and later pulled pork or brisket; chicken is provided for 30k and 50k participants.
