Funest 50k @ Carter Rd, Mulberry FL

The event offers trail races at Loyce E. Harpe Park in Mulberry, Florida, on mountain bike trails that run through an old, abandoned phosphate mine area. Courses are composed of sand and dirt singletrack with rolling hills and many twists and turns. The route is marked with over 600 course markers.

Distances:

  • 50k: five 10k loops
  • 30k: three 10k loops
  • 10k: one 10k loop

The course layout is a 10k loop used repeatedly for longer distances. There is an aid station around the 3.5 mile point and electrolytes, soda and water available at the start area and the aid station. The event lists a 10 hour cutoff equal to a 19:20 pace.

Entry is limited to 125 runners across the 10k, 30k and 50k fields for 2027. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to first masters male and female. Every finisher receives socks, a finisher sticker and an award. Ten dollars from each registration is designated for Polk County Parks and Recreation to support park maintenance.

Bib pickup is located at the park shelter near the park entrance. Food will be available at the start and finish area with additional hot items provided for the longer distance participants later in the morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
