The BACKYARD Genesis

The BACKYARD Genesis is a backyard ultra event listed for Lake Wales, FL, with 14248 Camp Mack Rd shown; the precise location is still to be announced. The format requires runners to complete a loop of 4.167 miles every hour. Completing 24 loops yields 100 miles.

Each loop must be started at the top of the hour and a bell signals the start of every loop. Runners may not receive aid or pacing while on the course. Between loops participants may receive support from a crew, use personal supplies, and occupy a small area next to the start and finish for a chair, cooler, or similar items. Tents may be set up in a designated area adjacent to the start and finish.

A competitor must be standing in the starting corral when the next loop begins to continue. There are no late starts once the bell is rung. Loops continue until only one runner completes a loop alone; that runner is declared the winner. If the final runner fails to complete the final loop in the allotted time, there will be no official finishers. Total distance covered will be recorded for each participant.

Event provisions include some food and fluids during the race and larger food preparations after runners leave the competition. There are no refunds; entries may be deferred or transferred to another event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
