Event overview

Frozen Falcon is a winter, 8-hour looped trail running event taking place on January 11, 2026 at Falcon Trails Resort / Falcon Ridge Ski Slopes near Falcon Lake, Manitoba, in Whiteshell Provincial Park. The course uses a groomed multi-use trail with a loop of about 6.5 km (roughly 4 miles). The event cap is 60 participants. Snowshoes are allowed.

Course, support and rules

Manual timing is used; runners must enter the yurt at the end of each loop so laps can be recorded and must notify timing staff if they stop. Entry includes access to the groomed trail and the yurt, simple aid-station food (chips, candy, instant noodle soup, vegetable broth and water), first aid support with an AED, a post-race meal, and event patches/awards. Running eight loops (just over 50 km) earns a 50k finisher toque; repeat 50k efforts can earn a snowflake patch, and 40 cumulative loops receive special recognition. Recommended gear includes a 500 ml insulated beverage container, an extra toque, an extra windproof jacket and an emergency blanket. No refunds are offered if the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the organizer’s control; bib transfers are permitted up until December 14.
