Frozen Falcon is a winter, 8-hour, looped trail running race held on January 11, 2026 at Falcon Trails Resort near Falcon Lake, Manitoba in Whiteshell Provincial Park. The event has an overall participant cap of 60. Registration closes on December 14. Participants may choose to run for shorter durations or for the full 8 hours.
Course and format
The race uses a groomed loop that follows the High Lake Multi-Use Trail. Each loop is approximately 6.5 km. Completing eight loops, just over 50k, earns a special 50k finisher award. Snowshoes are allowed.
Support, timing and rules
Timing will be manual with no live tracking; runners must check in at the yurt at the end of each loop so laps can be recorded. An aid setup at the yurt will offer simple items such as chips, candy, instant noodle soup, vegetable broth and water; participants are advised to bring their own cup and any additional food or gear they need. The yurt will be shared with the public and space for personal gear will be provided. Recommended winter gear includes an insulated 500 ml beverage container, an extra toque, an extra windproof jacket and an emergency blanket. Bib transfers are permitted until December 14.
