Falcon Trail Fest

Falcon Trail Fest takes place September 26 and 27, 2026 at Falcon Ridge Ski Hill in Whiteshell Provincial Park. All races start and finish at the ski hill chalet and run on trails around Falcon Lake.

Distances offered:

• 8 km Classic Up and Down (gain/loss 270 m)
• 16 km Classic Up and Down (gain/loss 540 m)
• 28 km The Better Half (gain/loss 620 m)
• Marathon Loop the Lake (gain/loss 592 m)

Courses use ski hill terrain, mowed off-trail sections for race day, new connector trails around the east end of the lake, and Trans Canada Trail sections. Runners encounter slabby rock sections, roots, technical singletrack, cedar groves, viewpoints over Falcon Lake, runnable double track, and some steep switchbacks. The routes will be marked with flags and directional signs on race day; provided descriptions are not a navigation aid.

On-site services include stocked aid stations, safety services, professional race-day photography, custom finisher awards and race swag, and a donation to the South Whiteshell Trail Association. Entry includes options to collect UTMB index points and regional Ultra Trails points. Combo entries allow participation on both days as Half Flight or Full Flight. Limited reduced-cost entries are reserved for elite and Indigenous runners on request. Parking is limited and a small festival area is planned at the start/finish.
